Common questions

I can't reach my server.

MuxLink connects to servers you already have access to — it does not provide hosting or a VPN. If your machine is not exposed to the public internet, you will need a mesh VPN such as Tailscale active on your device.

My tmux windows aren't showing as tabs.

The tab bar appears once MuxLink detects an attached tmux session. Set a per-host startup command such as tmux attach || tmux new so it attaches automatically on connect.

My prompt shows boxes or missing symbols.

Prompts like Starship use Nerd Font glyphs. Choose a font that includes them in Settings, or configure your shell prompt to a plain-ASCII preset.

How do I get Ctrl, Esc, and arrow keys?

They are in the accessory bar above the keyboard. You can customize which keys appear, and choose a preset, in Settings.

Where are my keys stored? Can you recover them?

In the iOS Keychain on your device only. The developer has no copy and no way to recover them. Keys protected with Face ID cannot be exported.
